Tomorrowland is one of the largest and most popular music festivals in the world. The 2020 edition is cancelled due to Coronavirus pandemic but they replace it with a digital festival, Tomorrowland Around the World, which was held this past weekend. According to their press release, there’s more than a million people tuned in to the first digital edition of Tomorrowland Around the World to watch more than 60 artists. The headliner of the festival including Steve Aoki, Armin Van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Katy Perry, David Guetta, Tiësto, Eric Prydz, Charlotte de Witte, and of course our favorite DJ, Martin Garrix.
Martin Garrix’s performance for Tomorrowland Around The World is definitely one of the highlights from the digital festival. Just as in the 2017 and 2018 edition of Tomorrowland, he is also given the duty to close the festival mainstage on Sunday, 26 July 2020. Martin Garrix open his set with Home intro and close it with a bang through his new outro, a mashup of Higher Ground and Forbidden Voices. He delivered a set with a marvelous performance featuring many of his hits, new mashups, and of course an abundance of new IDs from STMPD Records artists and Garrix himself. It was a balance of tracks that the audience familiar with and new materials that keep the viewers on edge.
All the performance for this digital festival are pre-recorded by the artists in 4 different large green screen studios in Belgium (Boom), USA (Los Angeles), Brazil (Sao Paolo) and Australia (Sydney) then transformed digitally to be added with special effects. Although he recorded his performance not in front of real audience, Martin Garrix brings the same kind of energy and interact flawlessly as if there was one.
Among all 8 new IDs that he put in his set, his ID is the one that most talked about. There’s a lot of rumor going on about this ID but so far nothing is confirmed. It is also still unknown whether he will release this song as Martin Garrix, GRX, or YTRAM (or whether it will be released at all 😂😂). There’s also speculation that this will be a YTRAM x Elderbrook track. What do you think about this new ID? Comment below and let me know.
